Demographical Details
Majority of the initiatives of Mahita targets girls and young women for economically backward families usually from backward or schedule caste/tribe communities. In urban areas are initiatives target children especially girls, young women and men from economically poor backgrounds. In rural areas Mahita has been working with tribes like gonds, lambadas etc who are an ethnic and homogenous group that have been socially excluded and exploited historically. In Urban areas Mahita is working Adolescent Girls from Muslim Communities as well as Children from Migrant Construction Families.
