For over three decades, Mahita has worked alongside women, children, youth, and marginalized communities to address challenges in education, child protection, livelihoods, gender equality, health, and climate resilience. Our programs are designed to create sustainable opportunities, strengthen local leadership, and build safer, more equitable communities across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Anti Child Labour Day Awareness Rally
Mahita participated in an awareness rally to mark Anti Child Labour Day, bringing together children, community members, educators, and stakeholders to advocate for every child’s right to education, safety, and protection. The event highlighted the realities faced by children engaged in labour and emphasised the importance of community action in preventing exploitation. Speakers also shared real-life examples of rescued children whose lives were transformed through education and rehabilitation support.
Women’s Health Screening Initiative in Jammu
Mahita is extending its healthcare interventions to Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, through a large-scale women’s health initiative focused on breast and cervical cancer screening. The programme aims to improve access to preventive healthcare services and promote early detection among women who may otherwise have limited access to screening facilities. Through awareness, outreach, and medical support, the initiative seeks to positively impact the lives of 10,000 women in the region.
International Women’s Day Celebration
Mahita celebrated International Women’s Day by recognising the resilience, leadership, and contributions of women from community groups and self-help collectives. The event featured cultural programmes, community participation, and discussions on women’s empowerment and social inclusion. It served as an opportunity to celebrate achievements while reinforcing the importance of creating equal opportunities for women and girls.
National Girl Child Day Celebration
National Girl Child Day was observed through awareness activities, performances, and community engagement programmes focused on the rights and wellbeing of girls. The event highlighted the importance of education, health, safety, and equal opportunities in enabling girls to reach their full potential. Through participation from children, families, and community members, the celebration encouraged greater support for girls’ empowerment.
Child Rights Awareness Campaign
Mahita conducted a child rights awareness campaign aimed at promoting education, child protection, and the prevention of child labour and child marriage. Through community outreach activities and stakeholder engagement, the campaign encouraged discussions on the challenges faced by vulnerable children and the importance of safeguarding their rights. The initiative helped strengthen awareness among families and communities on creating safer environments for children.
Youth Skills & Employability Workshop
The Youth Skills & Employability Workshop provided young people with opportunities to develop practical skills, career readiness, and professional confidence. Participants engaged in sessions designed to strengthen employability and explore pathways towards sustainable livelihoods. The programme aimed to equip youth with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate future education and employment opportunities successfully.
STEM & Digital Learning Initiative
Through the STEM and Digital Learning Initiative, students were introduced to hands-on experiences in science, technology, and digital education. Interactive activities encouraged curiosity, problem-solving, and innovation while exposing learners to future-ready skills. The programme supports Mahita’s broader commitment to expanding educational opportunities and fostering a culture of learning among young people.
